WHO ARE THESE RESOURCES FOR?

It can be hard to navigate the myriad of products and services that can help you create amazing 3D prints. It takes time that you probably don’t have. I’ve spent a lot of hours and energy curating this list so that you don’t have to.

3D Design Software

TinkerCAD

The first browser-based 3D design platform. Consequently, it is also one of the great beginner CAD resources. As part of the AutoDesk 123D series, within the web interface there are numerous ‘Lessons’ to help a newcomer learn 3D design. These lessons range from simple shapes to complex structures. When finished drawing, it is simple to save and send your designs anywhere through the cloud.

Blender

An excellent tool for modeling textures and art. Blender is superb for intricate details and perfecting the shape you need. Blender can create high quality renders with lighting and also animate in 3D. Best of all, it is free and open source which means you’ll be able to find answers to your most basic questions seamlessly.
